Physician Recruitment Job Posting - Psychiatrist

Position Precis:

The Psychiatrist will practice as a member of the Mental Health Program and join the current group of three psychiatrists in a Schedule One facility providing service to Adult and Geriatric Psychiatric clients in both Inpatient and Outpatient environments. The Mental Health Program is an integral component of a nationally recognized Mental Health Grey Bruce Partnership.This psychiatrist will be a generalist with an interest in ACTT and Aftercare clients or Geriatrics.

Qualifications:

Possesses and/or eligible for FRCPC Psychiatry
Current certification for independent practice with the Ontario College of Physicians and Surgeons
Successfully completed Part I and Part II examinations Medical Council of Canada

Renumeration:

Fee for Service OHIP billing for clinical component as well as sessional fees within the funding envelope.

Date Available:

Fall of 2010.

GBHS’ two psychiatrists support the Schedule 1 inpatient service and provide consultation to three community-based multi-agency mental health teams practicing from offices at the Owen Sound hospital. The psychiatrists support the Quick Response Team and a comprehensive range of ambulatory programs including the Crisis Team, Community Outreach Treatment Team, the Assertive Community Treatment Team, Psychogeriatric assessment and treatment, Dual Diagnosis and Aftercare Services. GBHS recently won the Canadian Mental Health Association’s national Best Practice Award. The Ministry of Health has requested a proposal for a child and adolescent program, which is currently under consideration for funding.
