Reporting to the Director of Quality and Safety, this role promotes an interprofessional practice environment across the corporation. Evidence informed care is a key driver for this role and will be used to support high quality patient care and best possible outcomes. This role provides support and oversight to a group of Allied Health Professionals and the Cardiac Rehabilitation Program. Another area of responsibility will be to provide leadership and oversight of clinical policies and procedures. This includes ensuring appropriate policies and procedures, medical directives and order sets are developed, creating a process for regular audit and evaluation, as well as leading and participating in quality improvement activities. This role will Drive evidence to support practice change through leadership and engagement of appropriate teams. Other key responsibilities include: fostering a cohesive team that works effectively with stakeholders both internal and external to GBHS; supporting professional development of the allied health team; and promoting all regulated health professionals to work to their full scope of practice.

Qualifications / Skills / Abilities:


  • University Degree in a relevant health related discipline (Master’s preferred)
  • Must be a member in good standing of their specific college
  • Recent management experience, preferably in a unionized, multi-site hospital environment
  • Experience working within a multidisciplinary team in a healthcare environment
  • Experience in change management and ability to lead through transitions
  • Clinical experience in a regulated health profession, preferably in an acute care setting
  • Strong knowledge and demonstrated experience with policy & procedure development, program evaluation and quality improvement tools and techniques
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and staff development skills
  • Leadership abilities to involve and motivate a team of diverse professionals in achieving desired results
  • Effective problem-solving, decision-making and organizational skills
  • Computer skills in MS Office
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and continuing education
  • Ability to prioritize and manage time and resources
  • Ability to interact effectively with stakeholders, physicians, senior management, Board, Community partners and clinical/technical staff
  • Available for regular assignment of Hospital Administrator on-call responsibilities (assigned on a rotating basis to cover evenings and weekends)
  • Valid driver’s license for travel
  • Recent satisfactory performance and attendance records
