Reporting to the Director of Employee and Labour Relations the Recruitment Coordinator provides administrative and clerical support to the Human Resources Team with a focus on recruitment and selection initiatives.  Responsibilities include coordinating the administration of the recruitment process; developing recruitment materials and initiatives; representing GBHS at job-fairs and other external events as requested and support to staff and management on the interpretation and application of Human Resource policies and related requirements.

Qualifications / Skills / Abilities:


  • Successful completion of a post-secondary diploma in Human Resources
  • Previous full cycle recruitment experience in a unionized healthcare setting and knowledge of collective agreement administration
  • Excellent organizational, communication, problem solving and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with others both internally and externally
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills to effectively deal with the public, staff and management at GBHS
  • Previous experience in delivering presentations and workshops to various audiences i.e. new employees, senior leaders, school groups etc.
  • Demonstrated ability to take accurate, effective and timely minutes
  • Respect for confidentiality and adherence to privacy legislation
  • Ability to work independently and cooperatively as part of a team
  • Self-directed, flexible and adaptable to changing workload and work environment
  • Computer skills, at the intermediate level, including use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook (to be tested)
  • Ability to effectively handle multiple demands and complete assignments in an accurate and timely manner and to prioritize workload in accordance with department needs and timelines
  • Ability to develop reports, presentations, and draft correspondence
  • Recent satisfactory performance and attendance records
