Physiotherapists are primary health care professionals with significant roles within the health teams at all six Brightshores hospitals. Physiotherapists are involved in all aspects of acute care, and in all programs throughout the hospital such as: Emergency, Critical Care, Acute Surgery, and Medicine. Outpatient services are available across all sites for patients meeting specific criteria.

Physiotherapists provide assessment, planning interventions, and treatment of patients with illness, injury, or disability, for all age levels. Patients are provided with education to promote health and well being, such as fall prevention, or protection of a limb after surgery. The Physiotherapy team works with patients to improve mobility, movement, and to achieve optimal function.

Prior to a patient’s discharge, Physiotherapists assist with preparations and recommendations with the Care Team. Physiotherapy services are supported by trained Physiotherapy Assistants.
